It takes special people to volunteer their services to strangers filled with anticipation and apprehension. Contestants often come alone, but some bring mentors or tutors. The logistics alone of this sort of invasion requires the planning of a D Day, with generals directing and determined sergeants moving the troops. There are varied time schedules to meet, traffic to contend with, and the unexpected to handle.
Judges and their needs must also be considered, as well: sheet music, sustenance, and their comfort.
Without a dedicated army of helpers giving up their homes, their time, their vehicles, and their personal lives, huge events like our Competition could not happen.
